Tyler Dibling left baffled at Everton as Dwight McNeil struggles continue

Tyler Dibling continues to be left out in the cold at Everton.

The Englishman signed for the Toffees in the summer as a highly anticipated arrival after a breakout year with Southampton.

Nothing like his St Mary’s form has been on show in blue as he has failed to capitalise on opportunities when they have come his way.

David Moyes hasn’t favoured the attacking midfielder, regularly reducing him to an unused substitute on Merseyside.

That carried on as Everton drew 2-2 away to Brentford on Saturday, with Dibling left to watch as Dwight McNeil had another stinker.

Dwight McNeil struggled vs Brentford

There was an expectation that when the winger’s move to Crystal Palace fell through, he would struggle to get back into the side in L3.

That hasn’t been the case, and he has continued to be a regular starter for the Toffees in recent weeks and months.

Moyes called upon the 26-year-old from the start against Brentford as the Blues went in search of an important result in the race for Europe.

They could only manage a draw, but certainly weren’t helped by McNeil as he struggled to make any sort of attacking impact.

He featured across 74 minutes, but racked up just 0.17 expected goals as all three of his attempted shots were blocked.

The Englishman also had a zero per cent completion rate with his four crosses and long ball attempts at the Gtech Community Stadium.

McNeil didn’t cover himself in glory against Everton, leaving Dibling to question what he has to do to land some minutes on Merseyside.

Tyler Dibling needs more gametime at Everton

The former Burnley man was eventually taken off by Moyes and replaced by Chelsea loanee Tyrique George.

He created just 0.08 expected goals and completed only one cross, as he also had little impact in the capital.

This all while Dibling watched on from the bench as he was an unused substitute for the 10th time in the Premier League since the turn of the year.

He will be looking on and questioning why he isn’t getting a chance despite McNeil struggling to make an impact on the flank.

The summer signing needs a chance to prove himself, otherwise he will prove to be a massive waste of money for Moyes and Co.
