Everton accounts show Farhad Moshiri still owed £42m by Friedkin Group after latest payment
Everton‘s published accounts show that former owner Farhad Moshiri is still due payments of up to £42.3million by the Friedkin Group.
The Toffees recently released their accounts for the 2024-25 season, which detailed a significantly reduced overall loss of £8.6m, with a revenue total of £196.7m.
Inside these documents, it shared how Moshiri was paid an upfront fee of £25m, with future payments set to see the former Everton boss receive another £42.3m, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Moshiri loaned around £450m to the Blues, and this was then converted into equity during the sale to the Friedkin Group, who wrote off millions worth of debt.
In total, Moshiri will be getting back £68m from the Friedkin Group once these extra payments are made, and this is the price of the ownership transfer, separate to the £450m shareholder loans.

Everton still in process of recovery under TFG; here’s why
The Friedkin Group knew they inherited a club that had lots of debt to pay off from Moshiri, but they’ve already made some good progress.
The move to Hill Dickinson Stadium will help with things like sponsorship deals, matchday revenue, and other commercial income that will transition losses to gains over time.
| Area of income | Financial readings |
| Record revenue | £196.7m |
| Commercial | £24.3m |
| Other commercial | £22.9m |
| Broadcast revenue | £129.2m |
| Matchday revenue | £20.3m |
Dan Friedkin and Co. had to pay off existing lenders and had to go through the process of redirecting how the club’s debt was paid off, and are doing so with JP Morgan Chase.
A package deal is in place with the company, which will see Everton receive a 30-year £350m package fund to cover payments for Hill Dickson, as income over time can cover these payments.

Everton are close to securing a sponsorship deal with CMC Markets, which could also see the club receive an improved yearly payment from what they currently earn from Stake.
TFG getting the balance right at Everton
In the midst of all the chaos with payments behind the scenes, Everton still have a football club to improve on the field.
The potential of European qualification will appeal to TFG, who could soon see multi-million-pound payouts from UEFA, if the Blues can follow through in the Premier League this season.
But the Toffees’ owners are committed to improving the squad in transfer windows, despite being down financially in other aspects.
Supporters will truly feel lucky to have them instead of Moshiri, as another summer of spending is lined up.
