Everton could better three-in-a-row Goodison record in perfect fashion vs Liverpool

Everton took time to get going at Hill Dickinson Stadium, but the new ground is finally starting to feel like home.

The Toffees have won back-to-back matches at their state-of-the-art stadium, having followed up a 2-0 win over Burnley with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Chelsea.

That triumph over Chelsea last month really did feel like the real grand opening of Hill Dickinson, coming amid the backdrop of a superb atmosphere.

Better could yet follow, however, as the first Merseyside derby at the stadium is now just four days away.

And ahead of Everton’s clash with Liverpool, a statistical twerk has emerged regarding Hill Dickinson Stadium and Goodison Park.

Everton out to win three in a row at Hill Dickinson

Everton’s overall home record this season is pretty underwhelming, albeit it does now look better thanks to those back-to-back wins.

David Moyes‘ side have won six, lost six and drawn four of their 16 matches on home soil, averaging 1.38 points per game.

Twenty-one goals have been scored and 19 conceded, which only highlights how average the form has been overall there.

This weekend could see Everton win three in a row at home for the first time this campaign in the league, in what would be their 17th game there.

For context, Everton needed 18 matches to achieve that feat at the much-loved Goodison Park, so they could actually do it in quicker time.

Anything less than a magical win on Sunday, though, and that run then resets.

Where do Everton rank for Premier League home form?

As mentioned above, Everton average 1.38 points per game on home soil in the Premier League.

That is not a dreadful return, nor is it particularly strong – especially not for a team aiming for a European spot.

On home results alone, Everton would be 14th in the Premier League. Away from home, meanwhile, the Toffees are the fourth-best side in the division.

That -0.18 points per game differential, as per Soccer Stats, is the fourth-biggest swing in the league, behind Nottingham Forest (-0.19), Crystal Palace (-0.34) and Tottenham (-0.62).

Again, though, results have picked up at Hill Dickinson of late and there is no reason why those figures can’t further balance out.

And should three points be racked up against a below-par Liverpool this weekend, it would mark the absolute perfect way to truly christen this wonderful new venue.
