Gary Neville and Roy Keane taken aback by West Ham vs Everton prediction – ‘Wow’

Gary Neville and Roy Keane clearly disagreed as Jill Scott made her prediction for Everton‘s trip to West Ham United this weekend.

Everton travel to the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon as David Moyes returns to his former stomping ground.

Moyes is well respected at West Ham after guiding the club to Europa Conference League glory, even if his exit will leave a somewhat sour taste in the mouth.

The Toffees are favourites to beat relegation-threatened West Ham, albeit they did lose last time out at the hands of fierce rivals Liverpool.

Ahead of Everton’s clash at West Ham, some high-profile pundits have had their say on the contest.

Jill Scott surprises with Everton prediction

Opta’s supercomputer makes Everton’s clash with West Ham an extremely tough one to call on the face of it.

While Everton are 14 points better off than their opponents, West Ham have undoubtedly improved over the past couple of months.

Indeed, over the past six Premier League matches, West Ham are seventh in the table with two wins, two draws and just one defeat.

Everton, for comparison, are ninth with two wins, two defeats and a draw over the same span of matches.

That perhaps explains why the panel on The Overlap found it so tough to call, with Neville going with a 2-2 draw in the end.

Fellow pundit Scott landed on a 1-0 win to West Ham, leading to both Neville and Keane to simply say: “Wow.”

“That’d be a big result,” Neville added, as he pointed out Everton are also still looking for a European spot.

Recent results suggests only one outcome at London Stadium

The big question is whether Everton would consider a point away at West Ham a good result.

The Toffees have been better on their travels this term than at Hill Dickinson Stadium, but any point away from home has to be considered a positive.

And on the basis of the past three meetings between these sides, that is exactly how this one is set to pan out.

Those past three encounters have been all square, which is as many as in the previous 24 (eight West Ham wins, 13 for Everton).

It is also worth mentioning that Everton have won more Premier League games against West Ham both overall (29) and away from home (13) than against any other side in the competition.

A tough one to call it may be, but Everton fans will travels in their thousands buoyant of getting back to winning ways.
