Everton to get Youssouf Fofana transfer green-light after £21.5m+ offer
Everton are interested in AC Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
According to Calciomercato on 1 May, the France international has emerged as a target for the Toffees and his situation will be one to keep an eye on in the summer.
The news outlet reports that while Massimiliano Allegri would like to keep the 27-year-old at the Rossoneri, the Italian club would be willing to green-light an offer over £21.5million for him.
It will now be interesting to see whether the Blues can pry the defensive midfielder, who Allegri clearly likes, away from San Siro to bolster their squad in the coming months.
David Moyes may need Fofana at Hill Dickinson Stadium ahead of the 2026-27 campaign if the Merseyside outfit lose players from their engine room, which certainly looks plausible.

Everton must plan for future with Youssouf Fofana
Moyes has relied on an ageing Idrissa Gueye to provide legs in the middle of the park for the Toffees.
With the Senegal international turning 37 in September, it would make sense for the Blues to plan for a future without him.
| Serie A Statistics | Youssouf Fofana |
| Appearances | 29 |
| Starts | 25 |
| Goals | 2 |
| Assists | 3 |
| Big chances created | 5 |
| Interceptions per game | 0.5 |
| Tackles per game | 1.3 |
| Total duels won per game | 2.6 (42%) |
While Gueye has formed an impressive partnership with James Garner, the Merseyside outfit need to find someone capable of succeeding him sooner rather than later.
Fofana is in his prime ages and has been a regular starter for Milan this season, arguably making the Frenchman an ideal candidate to bring in experience to the Scottish manager’s squad.
David Moyes will have one demand from Friedkin Group
Everton clearly needed additional reinforcements at the club in the winter transfer window, but The Friedkin Group were reluctant to spend any money.
Tyrique George was the only mid-season addition at the Toffees and one can argue that his performances have been hit-and-miss.

Moyes will surely feel he was let down by the American owners in January as the Blues now stare at the prospect of missing out on European football in the final stretch of the campaign.
Dan Friedkin should be ready to put his money where his mouth is if he truly wants the Merseysiders to progress and succeed in the coming future.
