David Moyes risks losing Everton hotshot Kingsford Boakye as European giants battle for signature

David Moyes hasn’t given fair opportunities to Everton‘s academy players, and it could see Kingsford Boakye leave the Toffees this summer.

The Finch Farm gem is said to be attracting interest from several big European clubs, ahead of a possible summer exit.

Moyes has come under scrutiny from fans already for his lack of changes in the side throughout the season, let alone his use of youth talent.

The Everton boss recently dismissed the chances of Braiden Graham making his first-team breakthrough at the end of this campaign, despite the winger being the best talent that the Blues have.

Now, Everton risk losing Boakye, who is arguably the next best thing at Finch Farm.

Manchester United among clubs wanting Kingsford Boakye

Moyes is stubborn with handing youth players chances, and for all of his good, this is one of the main problems with the 63-year-old.

The problem is, if youth players are seeing that no one is getting chances at Everton, then they will ask their agents to find them a new club.

Boakye’s PL2 stats this season

As seen in the table above, Boakye is a talented winger who offers a dangerous threat with both goal-scoring and playmaking abilities.

The 21-year-old boasts an impressive 52.9 per cent dribble success ratio, which, to put into perspective, is higher than Jack Grealish’s record in that department.

The right-winger has four goal involvements in 10 starts and also records a duel win rate of over 40 per cent, due to his strength and power, that is clearly ready for first-team football.

As relayed by DeadlineDayLive on X, Tuttosport have reported that Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Brighton, and RB Leipzig are all monitoring the Ghanaian ahead of a summer move.

Boakye is out of contract this summer, and there is currently no reason for him to commit his future with the Toffees, and that’s down to Moyes.

Fans would be livid, as not only would they be losing a promising young star, but it would further highlight a wider issue with the Everton boss.

David Moyes has shown enough evidence that no youngsters will progress at Everton

Everton recalled Harrison Armstrong from what was a successful loan spell with Preston in the Championship, all to start him in a grand total of six games.

The majority of them starts for the 19-year-old came when Idrissa Gana Gueye was away with Senegal for the African Cup of Nations.

Moyes admitted that he wanted to send Armstrong back on loan to Preston before the end of the winter transfer window, but that didn’t happen, and the teenager is now rotting on Everton’s bench.

Adam Aznou, Tyler Dibling, and Merlin Rohl were all young players that Everton brought to the club this summer, and all three have failed to have a fair run of games in the starting eleven.

It sets off a bad example to the prospects at Finch Farm, and Moyes risks harming the Toffees’ future with his stance.
