Everton would make unwise investment on Wilson Isidor despite chance for £25m price fall
Everton could be tempted to go back in for Wilson Isidor this summer, after the Toffees-linked striker is reportedly ready to leave Sunderland.
With only three games of the 2025-26 Premier League season to go, Everton chiefs might be starting to shift their focus towards the upcoming summer transfer window and the 2026-27 campaign.
David Moyes‘ side are still in with a good chance of qualifying for Europe this term, in what has been a season which has largely been a step in the right direction for Everton, both on and off the pitch.
Hill Dickinson Stadium’s inaugural year has been a roaring success, whilst the team have made their return to top-half contention, and look capable of becoming perennial European contenders moving forward.
On top of that, Everton’s financial situation also looks extremely promising, with their recent accounts showing a club-record turnover of £196.7million for the 2024-25 season.

What has been said about Wilson Isidor Sunderland exit?
As such, Everton look well positioned to be ambitious in the upcoming summer window, as they look to keep their trajectory very much trending upwards on the pitch.
However, that won’t mean the Toffees will go throwing money around carelessly, as that’s never been what this football club is about.

Isidor was linked with a move to Everton in this season’s winter transfer window, after falling out of favour at Sunderland following their Premier League promotion.
However, the Black Cats reportedly slapped a £25million price tag on the 25-year-old striker, which appeared to put possible buyers off.
But, as per fresh reports this week, Isidor is now reported to want out on Wearside, with Sunderland reportedly not expected to stand in his way.
The report suggests that Sunderland chiefs may be forced to lower their asking price for Isidor in order to generate sufficient interest and bids, meaning a cut-price deal could be on offer to Everton this summer.
Isidor is not what Everton need
Isidor has not enjoyed a good season with Sunderland, scoring just five goals in 30 Premier League appearances, with 11 of those being starts.
He was an important figure in Sunderland’s promotion to the top flight last season, but even so, he still returned only a modest 13 goals in the Championship, and now hasn’t proven he can make the step up.
At 25, he’s coming into the prime of his career too, and so at this stage, Everton would surely wanted to have seen a lot more from him at this level to feel comfortable parting with a significant fee this summer to sign him.

Regardless, in Thierno Barry, they’ve got their own young forward who they paid a considerable amount of money for to develop and improve, and his brace against Man City showed there’s definitely a player in there.
As such, Isidor is not the profile of forward Everton need right now, as if Moyes is to bring in another striker this summer, it should be a proven and experienced player who can push Beto and Barry.
