Everton: Tony Bellew reacts as Jack Grealish shares encouraging message on comeback trail
Everton loanee Jack Grealish is progressing well on his return from injury, with Tony Bellow among those to react to his latest social media post.
Grealish sustained a stress fracture in his foot against former side Aston Villa in January that has ruled him out since.
The Manchester City forward underwent surgery and is not expected to return before the end of the campaign.
Grealish recently revealed his surgeon said his recovery “could not be going any better”, while David Moyes also shared a positive update this week.
As Grealish continues to battle back from the injury, the England international has posted another update of sorts on social media.

Jack Grealish slowly closing in on return
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Moyes confirmed Grealish is out of his protective boot “and doing a lot more training”.
However, with just two weeks of the season left, it is pretty much accepted the 30-year-old will not kick a ball for Everton again unless he signs permanently.
| Jack Grealish | For Everton |
| Games | 20 |
| Goals and assists | 8 |
| Dribble success | 40.4% |
| Chances created | 38 |
| Pass accuracy | 84.1% |
Grealish appears to be on course for a full pre-season, however, which will massively benefit whichever club he finds himself at – hopefully Everton.
In a post via his personal Instagram on Saturday, Grealish wrote: “Every week a step closer.” The message was accompanied with a blue love heart.
Numerous figures commented and ‘liked’ the message, including former boxer and celebrity Everton fan Bellew.

James Maddison, who is himself about to return from a long-term injury layoff, also reacted, as did Grealish’s teammates Tim Iroegbunam
Grealish has already responded to Everton return question
Grealish’s Man City future is a hot topic of debate, with the attacker having another year to run on his existing contract.
City are supposedly holding out for £50million for Grealish, but that seems pretty fanciful. Even if £10m can be knocked off that, it would be a good deal for both City and Everton.
Even the player himself will not know exactly where he is plying his trade come the start of next season, however.

Indeed, Andy Hinchcliffe revealed as much during Sky’s coverage of Everton’s draw with Man City earlier this week.
“I saw Jack Grealish before the game, he said he is getting fitter and fitter and will be ready for the start of next season,” Hinchcliffe said.
“I asked him which club he would be playing for, and he said he wasn’t sure.”
Time will tell on that front, but Grealish certainly seems to be closing in on a return to fitness in good time for 2026-27.
