Merlin Rohl experiment could cost Everton vs Crystal Palace, David Moyes must change it
Merlin Rohl has again been hung out to dry by David Moyes at Everton.
An early goal from James Tarkowski saw the Toffees take a 1-0 lead, only to see that advantage withdrawn with Ismaila Sarr grabbing his eighth goal of the season.
Everton have at times lacked threat from set pieces, so to score from that scenario will be pleasing for Moyes, especially with plenty on the line.
Based on the first half performance, the Eagles seem to be there for the taking, but only if the visitors show more quality going forward.
And if Everton are to seal all three points, Moyes must realise the error he has repeated with Rohl, and change it at half-time.

David Moyes must end Merlin Rohl fantasy
Rohl has had a horrid season with Everton, with the German handed very few opportunities to prove his worth.
And when he has, Moyes has insisted on using him on the right wing, just as he has done against Crystal Palace.
| vs Palace | Rohl |
| Passes completed | 11 |
| Chances created | 0 |
| Dribbles completed | 0 |
| Duels won | 0 |
| Fouls won | 0 |
| Fouls comitted | 3 |
Unsurprisingly, it hasn’t worked, with the German yet to have any real impact in the game, as showcased by the fact that he has had just 19 touches.

On top of that, Rohl has failed to create any chances, complete any dribbles or win any of his nine duels.
Everton have several options to make a change at the break, and if so, it could give them the added boost they need to go on to win the game.
Who could replace Rohl for Everton?
When a defensive midfielder is starting on the wing, you’d be forgiven for assuming the Toffees are lacking options.
But that isn’t the case.
Everton have Tyrique George, Dwight McNeil and Tyler Dibling on the bench, all of whom can offer much more of a threat from the wide areas.
Moyes simply must introduce one of them for the second half, or this game could change very quickly.
