Jack Grealish knows exactly what he is doing to Everton fans with John Stones message

Jack Grealish has sent a message to former Manchester City teammate and Everton transfer target John Stones.

The former Blues defender has won everything there is to win with the Citizens, but he will leave Pep Guardiola’s side at the end of the season.

That decision has only increased speculation surrounding a return to Merseyside, to link up with David Moyes‘ side once again.

The former Barnsley man played for the Toffees between 2013 and 2016 before earning his £50million switch to the Etihad Stadium.

Everton fans would love to see a deal done for the England World Cup hopeful, and it seems like Grealish would too.

What message did Grealish send to Stones?

Everton loanee Grealish has made his feelings on Stones clear through the years, forming a close friendship with the 31-year-old.

He took to Instagram on 13 May as the defender was introduced in the 82nd minute of the 3-0 win for his parent club.

He posted an image of Stones being brought on with a message, saying: “Jonnny Jonnny Stones” with a blue heart emoji.

Grealish knows what he is doing to Everton fans

Grealish knows exactly what he is doing to the Blues’ fanbase by posting that message.

He is only adding fuel to the fire about the potential signing, getting supporters excited about the idea of having the 87-cap international back in L3.

He is perhaps even putting pressure on the Friedkin Group, trying to turn the fanbase towards the idea of signing Stones, so that he is also willing to return after his brilliant loan spell before his injury this season.

Should Everton sign Stones?

It would be a brilliant addition for the Friedkin Group, if they could convince the six-time Premier League winner that their project is the right one for him, and it would likely help bring Grealish back too.

Stones would have to prove his fitness, as he has had injury issues in the last few years, but he is a top-quality player on his day, a level above what the Toffees currently have at centre-back.

If it helps Grealish to perform by bringing in somebody that he is familiar with, then it will be a huge benefit to Moyes and Co and help them achieve their ambitions.
