Everton are considering a move for Dutch international Lutsharel Geertruida this summer.

The Toffees still have European football in sight, though the likelihood is that they will need to win both of their remaining games to stand a chance.

Only once their plans for the next campaign are confirmed will they turn full focus to the summer transfer window, though some deals are already in the pipeline.

Everton’s biggest concern is in regard to their lack of options at right-back, with David Moyes intent on adding to that area of the squad.

And according to the latest reports, Geertruida is on Everton’s radar to address that.

How much would Lutsharel Geertruida cost?

Geertruida made the move to Sunderland on loan last summer, but has struggled for gametime since the turn of the year.

A move to Liverpool seemed to be on the cards in January, though the Black Cats refused to terminate their loan agreement with Leipzig, as it would have left them short.

However, Regis Le Bris’ side are reportedly set to turn down the chance to sign the Dutch defender permanently, with a move elsewhere in the Premier League likely.

Alan Nixon has reported via his Patreon that Everton are keen on a deal, with Leipzig likely to demand a fee over £20million.

What would Geertruida bring to Everton?

At 25 years old, Geertruida still has years of improvement ahead of him, though his biggest asset is by far his versatility.

The former Ajax star can play anywhere across the backline, while also having adopted a defensive midfield role throughout his career.

He is composed on the ball and more than reliable defensively, which is exactly the type of qualities that the Toffees need to recruit.
