Jarrad Branthwaite sale for the greater good at Everton as first opportunity already missed
Jarrad Branthwaite could be moved on by Everton this summer.
Now that the Toffees’ European hopes are as good as dead, more focus will be put on the summer transfer window, with plenty of recruitment to be done.
Everton are in need of depth across various areas of the squad, while also adding more starting quality to the defensive line.
In that regard, an exit for Branthwaite would make little sense, given the fact that he is comfortably their best defender.
However, his injury concerns at Everton are what make it a far more feasible option than many would assume.

Everton would benefit from Jarrad Branthwaite sale
To reiterate the above, Branthwaite is an excellent defender when fit, but there stands his biggest issue.
Injuries have limited him to just 10 Premier League appearances this season, with the 23-year-old having started just seven of those games.
| Premier League | Branthwaite |
| Games | 10 |
| Starts | 7 |
| Goals | 1 |
He missed 20 games last season across all competitions, adding more concern to his injury record.

At 23 years old, and English, he holds an immense amount of value that could be reinvested back into the squad and be much more useful.
Everton already passed up on their first big opportunity to sell him last summer, and this may be their last chance to get a big fee for his exit.
How much would Everton get for Branthwaite?
Prior to his recent injuries, the Toffees were believed to be holding out for upwards of £80million to sanction his exit, which at the time was warranted.
But now, that fee is unreasonable given his fitness history, and there could even be a case to be made that his value has halved.
Either way, if the Toffees could get a fee north of £40m for his exit, then it may be a deal worth taking.
