Troy Parrott to Everton must be on the cards as striker prepares for ‘next step’ away from AZ Alkmaar
Troy Parrott has been linked to Everton for quite some time, and now David Moyes might have the go-ahead to pursue a transfer.
The Irishman has had an exceptional season in the Netherlands for AZ Alkmaar, and that has brought plenty of interest in the forward.
Parrott already has Premier League experience after coming through the academy ranks of Tottenham earlier in his career.
However, he is now closer to the final product, and firing number nine is exactly what Moyes’ squad requires to push.
Now, ahead of Everton’s summer window, Parrott has essentially put himself in the shop window with his latest comments.

What has Troy Parrott said about his future amid Everton interest?
The transfer window is already heating up, with Everton target Parrott opening the door to a move this summer.
The Irishman has scored 31 goals across all competitions this campaign and has assisted a further 12 goals too.

Speaking after AZ’s final game of the season via the Irish Independent, the 24-year-old stated: “I think now is the time for me to make the step for my career for myself.”
The centre-forward has also left the door open on his next destination by saying: “I have no wish, I have no dreams in terms of a destination that I want to go to, I’m OK with it being unknown. So, whatever happens, will happen. I’m excited, I’m looking forward to it.”
After this admission, the Toffees will surely be one of those knocking on Parrott’s door and hoping to convince him to make the switch to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The inconsistent form of both Thierno Barry and Beto has long been an issue, and a firing forward could propel Moyes’ side to the next step of Everton’s evolution.

Why Troy Parrott is perfect signing for Everton
There are multiple reasons as to why Parrott would be an excellent coup for Everton. At 24 years old, the Irish striker is about to enter the peak years of his career.
Additionally, as previously stated, the AZ forward comes with previous experience in the English top flight, even if it was short.
Furthermore, reports have suggested that he grew up as an Everton fan, but Parrott did previously reject the chance to join Everton, so it remains to be seen how much that could weigh on his mind.
One thing that could now go against the Blues is their failure to qualify for Europe, but nonetheless, Parrott should be top of their shortlist.
