Everton find their Idrissa Gueye replacement as Milton Delgado sparks interest
Everton are said to be keen on a move to sign Boca Juniors’ Milton Delgado.
David Moyes will be well aware of the importance of the summer window, with the Toffees in need of additions in several positions.
More firepower is a priority, as is more quality at the back, but Everton have lost many of their games this season due to a lack of control in the middle of the pitch.
Bolstering that area will be key for the Merseysiders in the coming months, with a six-game winless run to showcase that.
Delgado has been linked with Everton as a result, and he could be just what they need.

Whos is Milton Delgado?
Delgado is a name that is only really known in Argentina, and for good reason too, given the fact that that is where he has played his football.
Currently at Boca Juniors, the 20-year-old midfielder has established himself as a part of their midfield furniture, which has, in turn, attracted interest from the Premier League.
| Liga Profesional Apertura 2026 | Delgado |
| Starts | 11 |
| Successful passes p90 | 51 |
| Tackles p90 | 2.73 |
| Recoveries p90 | 7.23 |
| Fouls won p90 | 1.06 |
Argentinian news outlet El Intransigente have reported that the Toffees are one of the clubs to have shown an interest in him.
It’s claimed that any deal would require a fee in the region of £13million, and with three years left on his deal, Boca will be under no pressure to sell.
Stats show why he could be the perfect Idrissa Gueye replacement
Idrissa Gueye has been an excellent servant for Everton, but his performances at times this season have shown his decline, which is to be expected.
That in itself isn’t an issue, but the lack of options after him certainly has been, and Delgado would change that.
The Argentine has won 31 tackles in his 16 league appearances this year, which places him among the top 11.7 per cent of midfielders in the league.

It sees him average 2.73 per game, which trumps Gueye’s 1.84 in the Premier League.
Delgado also averages 7.23 recoveries per 90, which is again much higher than Gueye, who has averaged just 4.88 this season.
At £13m, it seems like it would be a risk worth taking.
