Everton: Three stars David Moyes could hand Premier League debuts to with little left to play for

Everton have officially lost their chance at qualifying for Europe after Chelsea’s win against Tottenham on Tuesday evening.

Now, the Toffees head into the last game of the season with nothing more than Premier League placement on the line.

With little to fight for, this can often be an opportunity for managers to turn to players you often have not seen throughout the season.

Debut appearances in the Premier League for Everton stars could be possible, as David Moyes looks to provide a final test ahead of next season.

With that in mind, ahead of Everton’s final game of the season, here are three players that could make their inaugural top-flight appearance for the Blues.

Adam Aznou

If Adam Aznou is not afforded a Premier League opportunity this weekend, in what is essentially a dead rubber for the Toffees, it seems hard to envision a future for the Moroccan.

Despite joining in the summer window, the left-back has still yet to make his Premier League debut under Moyes.

Additionally, he has still only made one appearance across all competitions, as Everton lost on penalties to Sunderland in the FA Cup.

Moyes should finally throw him into the deep end on Sunday and finally see what he is made of in a senior Premier League fixture.

Braiden Graham

Braiden Graham is one of the most exciting prospects in the Everton academy, with the Northern Irishman netting 12 goals in the Premier League 2 this season.

Graham has already been part of the first team this campaign, being an unused substitute in the Toffees’ 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest in December.

The 18-year-old is clearly on the cusp of the first team to even get such an opportunity to be part of a matchday squad.

Now, ahead of facing Tottenham, it would not be a surprise to see Moyes go one step further and hand him that chance off the bench.

Graham’s current deal at Everton is until 2027, and the Toffees would be wise to keep him onside and happy amid potential contract talks.

Mark Travers

Although Mark Travers has already made his Everton debut and his Premier League debut at Bournemouth, he has yet to feature in the league for the Toffees.

With nothing left to play for, there is no better time for Moyes to hand out minutes to the Irishman, who has had to watch on as Jordan Pickford excelled between the sticks.

However, knowing Pickford, the 32-year-old will still be pushing to play and end the season strongly ahead of the World Cup with England.

Nonetheless, if there was ever a time to throw Travers into the firing line other than a Pickford suspension or injury, this is the occassion.
