Everton confidence won’t be lifted thanks to 10-year Premier League record
Everton have a disappointing final day record over the last decade, which won’t fill David Moyes‘ side with belief heading into Tottenham.
The Toffees have seemingly let their chance of qualifying for European football for the first time since 2017 slip through their fingers.
Moyes’ men need a minor miracle on the final day, with a handful of clubs ahead of them needing to drop points.
As such, it looks almost certain that they will have to wait until 2026-27 to give European qualification another go, with a big summer window needed in order to fill out what is a thin squad.
Tottenham await Everton this Sunday for the final game of the season, and the recent history books don’t make for great Toffees reading when it comes to getting a result in the last match.

What is Everton’s final day record in the last 10 years?
Everton are considerable underdogs to beat Tottenham, despite the fact Spurs will be relegated this weekend if they lose to the Toffees and West Ham beat Leeds respectively.
Twists and turns are bound to happen across the Premier League on Sunday, with all 10 games kicking off at 4pm.

For whatever reason, some teams consistently fare well on the final day of the season, whilst others tend to struggle.
When it comes to Everton, however, they are certainly in the latter of those camps over the last decade.
Indeed, from the 2015-16 season to 2024-25, the Toffees have lost six of their 10 league games on the last day of term, winning three and drawing once respectively.
Everton’s six losses in this time period have been against: Arsenal (23-24, 21-22 & 16-17), Man City (20-21), Bournemouth (19-20) and West Ham (17-18) respectively.

Meanwhile, their three victories have been over: Norwich (15-16), Bournemouth (22-23) and Newcastle (24-25) respectively.
What is Tottenham’s home record like this season?
So, with Everton now six Premier League games without a win and with a poor final day record over the last decade to boot, Toffees fans will be desperately looking for positive omens ahead of Tottenham.
And, in Spurs’ home record in 2025-26, they will find one, as the Lilywhites have not made N17 a particularly tough place to come for travelling sides this term.
Tottenham have won just twice from their 18 league games on home soil this season, losing 10 and drawing six respectively, culminating in a total of just 12 points picked up.

Meanwhile, they’ve won seven, lost seven and drawn five away from home with 26 points won, showing just how much better they’ve been on the road than at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Perhaps then, Everton should be stronger favourites for the win than they are, as even if they don’t make Europe, taking a winning feeling into the summer would be so important.
