Kiernan Dewsbury Hall hits out at claims made away from Everton – ‘just not true’
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall of Everton has hit back at the idea that he would be willing to represent Ireland.
The Blues star was snubbed as Thomas Tuchel announced his England squad for the World Cup this summer, despite his sensational form.
Reports emerged on social media recently that he would be willing to switch his international allegiance to Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side.
However, the Toffees maestro confirmed that is not the case on his own social media platform on 27 May.
Everton fans will want to see him get recognition on the international stage, but it appears it will not be with the Boys in Green.

What did Dewsbury-Hall say?
Everton star Dewsbury-Hall was never really a contender for Tuchel’s squad, despite eight goals and four assists in the Premier League this season.

He hit out at claims that said he had committed to Ireland and expected to be named in their squad for the Nations League in September, confirming his desire to represent the Three Lions.
Taking to X on 27 May, he said: “Just not true.
“Massive respect to Ireland as I’ve previously stated, but I’m English & England is always the dream.”
Does Everton man deserve England berth?
Dewsbury-Hall was very unlucky to miss out on the England squad, but he faces tough competition in the number 10 role.
The likes of Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers are ahead of him for the number 10 position, while Cole Palmer and Phil Foden, are also not in the squad.
Those would likely also be challenges to his position, which makes it extremely hard for the Blues star to make it in ahead of his rivals.

However, he is clearly backing himself rather than taking the easy option of changing his national team after the snub, which means he will spent the summer at home.
That is the right approach, and the Toffees may end up benefiting from his desire to represent the 1966 World Cup winners in the future.
He will have to be on top form to change Tuchel’s mind in the future, and that can only be a good thing for his club side.
The Merseysiders may well see an increased level of consistency from the former Chelsea man next season, as he looks to change his fortunes away from club level.
