Seamus Coleman shows Everton what they will miss with Ireland scenes

Seamus Coleman has shown Everton exactly what they will be missing when he departs this summer.

The 37-year-old will leave the Hill Dickinson Stadium when his contract expires in June, after 17-years with the Merseyside club.

The Blues had offered him a coaching role, but he wants to continue his playing career to extend his time with his nation.

That seems to be the right decision, as he was at his best as the Aviva Stadium witnessed Ireland’s 1-0 win over Qatar on 28 May.

Everton may regret his exit after the latest scenes, as he showed there is still plenty in the tank.

Is letting Coleman leave the right decision?

It is not a surprise that the Toffees are letting Coleman depart, he has not featured nearly enough recently to warrant a new deal, with injuries taking their toll.

He played just five Premier League matches last season, for a total of 20 minutes and he can’t have the same impact in their games.

However, his showing on the international stage will surely raise question marks over whether he could reach that level for his club, and leave the L3 outfit with a lingering regret that he is leaving.

Ultimately, it is the right decision, but his scenes for his country will perhaps leaving some internal figures with second thoughts.
