Everton have obvious issue to address as worst three players revealed

Everton‘s 2025-26 campaign ended on a sour note, but it will not be too long before supporters begin to get excited for the new season.

A season that promised so much with the final stretch in sight ended in disappointment as the Toffees missed out on any European football.

David Moyes‘ men failed to win any of their final seven matches and finished in 13th place, with Brighton, Sunderland and Bournemouth each claiming a European spot.

Some Everton players can hold their heads up high, while others simply did not perform to the levels expected.

With the dust now settled on the 2025-26 season, Goodison News looks at who ranked at the wrong end of Everton’s best performers this season.

Charly Alcaraz was Everton’s worst performer in 2025-26

The stats, they say, don’t lie. While the figures can often be skewed to fit a certain narrative, there is no doubt that too many of Everton’s attack-minded players struggled.

As per Sofascore data, which takes numerous metrics into consideration, Charly Alcaraz was the worst performer of the lot for Everton last season.

Alcaraz was injured for chunks of the season but still featured 20 times for the Toffees in the Premier League.

Players need to have featured for a certain amount of minutes, explaining why Tyler Dibling is perhaps not part of this list.

Alcaraz registered a 6.50 rating, with Thierno Barry (6.53) and Beto (6.62) the next two names on that unwanted list.

Beto hit a good patch of form towards the end of the season, taking his tally to nine, but even he will accept he struggled for the majority of the campaign.

As for summer signing Barry, he scored eight times in total and in just two of Everton’s final 15 matches.

Everton fix a simple one as Beto and Thierno Barry not good enough

Beto is a decent option for Everton to call upon, but he is not a forward prolific enough to lead a push for the European spots.

Moyes will need no telling of that, and hopefully The Friedkin Group are already working on bringing in a new option up top.

Had Moyes had another choice in the final third across those final two months of the season, things could have turned out a whole lot different.

It says a lot that the worst three performers were attacking midfielders and forwards, while the fourth name on that list – Dwight McNeil – is a winger.

The summer window may not even yet be officially open, but everyone connected to Everton knows what is needed over the next couple of months.
