Allan Saint-Maximin responds to Fabrizio Romano update on Lucas Digne Everton situation
Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin has responded to Fabrizio Romano’s latest update on the future of Everton star Lucas Digne.
The Toffees defender has fallen out with manager Rafa Benitez and it was revealed on Friday (January 7) that he has asked to be allowed to leave the club.
Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has been all over the story, reporting on potential destinations for the France international and he has been adamant that there is no chance Digne will be moving to Newcastle.

Links continue to pop up that suggest Digne could move to St James’ Park and after another tweet from Romano in which he stated there was ‘no way’ the move will happen, Magpies winger Saint-Maximin chimed in on Twitter.
The Frenchman comically tweeted out saying, “Ok Fabrizio just to clarify, is Lucas Digne going to join Newcastle ?”
Joke
It seems as though the Newcastle man has had enough of his club’s name being spoken down on by Romano and has decided to chip in with humour.
Digne has been linked to the likes of Chelsea, West Ham and Aston Villa too but the deal doesn’t seem to be near being done yet.
Saint-Maximin could be trying to show Romano up if he knows a deal for Digne is close to being done, or he could just be having a laugh online with fans.
The latter is probably more likely considering the most recent developments and Romano’s certainty.
Digne will be leaving Everton this winter, that much seems inevitable, but whether it’s Newcastle who’ll be signing him or not remains up in the air.
