Sheffield United have no interest in Everton striker Neal Maupay, no talks held yet for Mason Holgate
Sheffield United have not held any talks with Everton over Mason Holgate, and have no interest in striker Neal Maupay according to the Liverpool ECHO.
The Blades were reportedly keen on the Toffees duo, with both players being told they’re free to leave the club if acceptable offers are received this summer.
But while some reports suggested that Sheffield United were in “advanced talks” with Holgate over a loan deal, the ECHO have branded that as “incorrect” while also killing the rumour of a potential move to the steel city for the French striker.

“Meanwhille, claims Sheffield United have enquired about Mason Holgate and Neal Maupay are incorrect,” they wrote (14 July).
“And while Holgate is a player of interest for the newly-promoted Blades, claims that talks have already commenced over a deal are, at this moment in time, wide of the mark, while there is no interest from the Yorkshire club in Maupay.”
Tough
It’s going to be a tough job to bring in players that we need to strengthen the squad this summer, but it’s arguably going to be harder to shift the players we don’t want.
Dyche has made it clear who is in his plans and who isn’t since arriving, and Holgate has already been told he can leave while being offered to clubs abroad for free deals too.

However while there is interest in him at least, the future looks bleaker for Maupay after his horror season on Merseyside last season has clearly made everyone think twice about his talents.
He managed just one goal after a £15m move from Brighton and there are seemingly minimal interested parties in his services, which obviously makes it impossible for Everton to sell him if no offers come in.
If he ends up staying then Dyche will obviously make use of him as that is his job, but him sticking around could prevent us bringing in another forward and that is a big problem heading into the new campaign.
