Everton want to sign Juventus starlet Samuel Iling-Junior, bid tabled

Everton want to sign Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior and have tabled an offer for the England youth international, according to Il Bianconero.

Writing on their official website (25 July), the Italian news outlet report that the Serie A winger is considered “expendable” this summer and an offer of around £17.1m could see him allowed to leave.

Everton, Fulham and West Ham are all said to have made concrete approaches to Juventus, but so far they have been knocked back after falling below what they want.

“Here, Juventus is evaluating the possibility of continuing with the transfer market, and two players who could become expendable are certainly Samuel Iling Junior and Andrea Cambiaso,” they wrote.

“The price of both is very similar – the two are valued at around 20 million, the English slightly more – just as the role they play in Alelgri’s ideas is similar: they are currently the Kostic deputies, so one of the two is too many.

“For Samuel Iling Junior there would be potential offers from the Premier League, where in particular West Ham, Fulham and Everton have concretely come forward with polls.

“The goal was to evaluate the feasibility of the sale, perhaps on loan, perhaps with the right to buy. Juve, for now, has returned everything to the sender: if the offers meet the requests of Juventus and the player himself, there could be a real possibility that Iling Junior will be taken into consideration for next season.”

Exciting

Everton are quite obviously in the market for attackers this summer and having already completed a deal for Arnaut Danjuma, things are picking up.

They seem to have missed out on the potential signing of El Bilal Toure after he agreed to move to Atalanta, and that means that alternatives need to be sought out.

Iling-Junior had a bit of a breakthrough year at Juventus last season, becoming the youngest player to start a Champions League game for them, and generally looking impressive.

He’s direct, fast, tricky and has a decent final ball on him too and at such a young age there is plenty of room for development and coaching if Sean Dyche wants to mould him.

It could be a shrewd signing, but there is clearly competition for his signature so any deal will need to be done quickly if they want to get it over the line ahead of the new season.
