Gordon to start in four changes: Predicted Everton starting XI v Brighton

The Everton supporters will be fully expecting a big reaction from their team when they face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday.

That’s understandable given the dirge they offered up against Liverpool’s kids in the FA Cup last time out.

And while there will be an expectation of more from the players, the fans will also be looking to manager Carlo Ancelotti to make a few much-needed changes to his starting line-up.

To that end, it’s anticipated that the Italian will make around four alterations. Djibril Sidibe, Morgan Schneiderlin, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Theo Walcott are all likely to miss out.

Centre back Michael Keane, midfielders Fabian Delph and Tom Davies and forward Anthony Gordon can all expect to come into the team.

In goal, Jordan Pickford will almost certainly keep his place. Until Ancelotti has a viable option to replace the inconsistent Englishman, he will likely stay where he is.

The formation will most probably remain the same, but Sidibe cannot continue in it. Seamus Coleman could well move back out to the right wing back position, with Keane replacing him in the back three.

Alongside the former Burnley man will most probably be Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate.

Ahead of them, as mentioned, will surely be Delph and Davies. It’s hard to see Ancelotti selecting either Sigurdsson or Schneiderlin after their Merseyside derby shockers.

In the final third, the one change will likely be Walcott dropping out for young Gordon. The Toffees academy product appears to be on the verge of a start, and his selection here would give the fans a lift.

Joining him in attack will probably be Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
