Report: Everton monitoring in-demand Serie A star
The transfer explosion that was anticipated to occur at Everton after Carlo Ancelotti’s appointment as manager has yet to truly happen.
Perhaps he’s being hamstrung by a board that don’t want to spend, or maybe there are deals in the pipeline which simply haven’t been completed yet.
One thing’s for sure, though: the Toffees are being linked with plenty of players, with Serie A stars appearing to be a particular focus for the former Napoli boss.
The latest player plying his trade on the peninsula to be associated with a switch to Goodison Park is Bologna winger Riccardo Orsolini.
Goal reported on Wednesday that the Blues are monitoring the 22-year-old, who is enjoying his finest campaign to date.
He’s been responsible for 9 goals in 18 games for Sinisa Mihajlovic’s this season, with five strikes and four assists.
Ancelotti’s side are joined by AC Milan and Orsolini’s former team Juventus in coveting the youngster, with the latter having a £19million buy-back option come the summer.

This is a bit more like it. Orsolini is a terrific talent who has really blossomed this campaign and, at just 22 years of age, has plenty of time to get even better.
Aside from his raw goals and assist tallies, he’s averaging 2.7 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.6 successful dribbles per game this term.
Juventus’ interest and their buy-back option is a real problem, because this reeks of the irritating sort of transfer they’d pull off just to continue hoarding top Italian talent.
But if the Toffees can seal a deal, here, it’d be a tremendous signing.
