Report: German giants eye swoop for Everton ace
Everton have yet to find a proper long-term successor to stalwart right back Seamus Coleman, who is now 31 years of age.
It’s not a critical situation, but one that manager Carlo Ancelotti needs to keep an eye on. Djibril Sidibe has had an up-and-down loan spell from Monaco, so who knows his status on Merseyside?
For a while now, though, it’s seemed that young Jonjoe Kenny would be the next man up at right back for the Toffees.
However, that may no longer be the case. The Daily Mail reported on Tuesday that German giants Schalke, where the player is out on loan, are eyeing a permanent move for the 22-year-old this month.
The Englishman has appeared in every game this season for David Wagner’s improving team, impressing greatly in the Bundesliga.
The report doesn’t reveal what the Toffees’ stance on the player is, but you’d assume that they’d be extremely reluctant to lose him amid this career-best form.

Why would Everton sell Kenny?
The only plausible reason for offloading the right back would be if he really wanted to move on. Otherwise, it would make no sense at all.
Kenny has made 19 appearances this campaign, scoring once and providing two assists, and is very much a key component of this Schalke side.
He would appear to be Coleman’s heir apparent, so it would be madness to get rid of him. So, again, unless he really wants to go, the Blues must fight tooth and nail to keep him.
In other Everton news, former manager Sam Allardyce has criticised the club’s recent transfer policy.
