Kevin Ratcliffe shares four-word verdict as Everton lose 1-0 at Tottenham
Everton legend Kevin Ratcliffe has slammed the Toffees for their performance in the 1-0 defeat against Tottenham on Monday evening.
It was a mediocre showing from both sides in North London but it was the home team who took three points thanks to an own goal by Michael Keane.
Everton rarely looked like threatening Spurs’ goal and will now look forward to the Southampton clash on Thursday evening.

Ratcliffe responded to the result on his social media, simply claiming that his former side were not at the races from the first whistle.
“Simply not good enough,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Many Everton fans will have agreed with that simple statement, with the Toffees nowhere near the standards that they had already set against the likes of Liverpool and Leicester City.
A win against Southampton will put this lacklustre display well into the past, but if they lose again, blame may have to pointed at Ancelotti for not changing too much.

Looking at the performance, there wasn’t much to split the two sides, but it was the way that Everton didn’t put up much of a fight after going behind that was most disappointing.
Anthony Gordon came off the bench and put in a performance to embarrass some of the senior professionals around him and that isn’t good enough.
Everton kept less of the ball, had fewer shots on goal and also completed fewer passes according to WhoScored, and that must improve.
