Alan Shearer includes Everton player in Team of the Week after 5-2 thrashing

Alan Shearer has included Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin in his Premier League Team of the Week after the 5-2 win against West Brom.

The Toffees forward sealed his first-ever career hat-trick in the victory, scoring either side of half time in the emphatic victory.

Everton are currently sitting second in the Premier League, with Carlo Ancelotti welcoming some key additions over the summer.

Shearer couldn’t find space for either James Rodriguez and Richarlison, who were both critical for the Merseyside club.

The Premier League record goalscorer did include Calvert-Lewin though, and that will feel like the ultimate compliment for the striker.

It wasn’t a bad front four either, with Sadio Mane, Wilfried Zaha and Heung-Min Son also included by Shearer.

In a weekend where the goal record in a single match week was smashed, the front four in this team managed to score 11 goals.

Looking at Calvert-Lewin’s performance, he was superb.

The 23-year-old managed to have SIX shots on goal according to WhoScored and could have even added his name to the scoresheet on more occasions.

Experienced defenders such as Kyle Bartley didn’t know what had hit them when marking Calvert-Lewin, who bullied his much-older opposition all afternoon.

With games against Crystal Palace and Brighton coming up, Everton have real chances to pick up more points before the ultimate test for the young forward – the Merseyside derby against Liverpool.
