Chris Sutton heaps praise on ‘fantastic’ Everton star after international display
Chris Sutton has heaped praise on Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin for his “fantastic” start to this season.
Calvert-Lewin is currently the top-scorer in the Premier League, finding the back of the net in each outing so far under Carlo Ancelotti.
The Toffees talisman also scored on his England debut on Thursday, as the Three Lions swept Wales aside easily 3-0 at Wembley.

Sutton claimed that it is brilliant for England, with Calvert-Lewin now in a position to offer more competition for Harry Kane.
“Calvert-Lewin has been fantastic,” he told the Daily Mail.
“Saying that you could have scored that goal, Micah… But Calvert-Lewin looks strong, he’s at ease with his game.
“If you had asked me a couple of months ago if he’d be in serious contention to play for England, pushing Harry Kane, I’d have said absolutely not.”

Calvert-Lewin has been phenomenal, and there is no doubting that.
The 23-year-old is starting to put himself in the danger areas more frequently this season, and that is resulting in most chances falling at his feet rather than Richarlisons.
The striker is averaging nearly four shots a game according to WhoScored, and that also highlights his clinical nature in the final third – something Ancelotti will be delighted with.
Whether it’s enough to replace Kane though? We doubt it given his standing within the international set-up under Gareth Southgate – one step at a time.
