Many Everton fans react to Mason Holgate performance in 2-0 defeat v Fulham
Everton crashed to a shocking 2-0 defeat against Fulham in their Premier League clash on Sunday evening.
The Toffees were looking to continue their form from the games with Leeds, Manchester United and Spurs, but did completely the opposite.
Josh Maja scored twice at Goodison Park as the Cottagers left Merseyside with all three points as Carlo Ancelotti watched on.
One who failed to catch the eye was Mason Holgate.
The young defender has stepped up many times this season, but he was at fault in defence when Maja stepped up to take the game away from the home side.
After Harrison Reed hit the post in the second half, it was the Fulham striker who reacted first, with Holgate “asleep” in his own area.

Holgate made seven tackles according to WhoScored, but it was his positioning that cost Everton on numerous occasions after being asked to move to right-back.
If Ancelotti wants to utilise the pace and power of Holgate, he must do so centrally, with Ben Godfrey far more suited at right-back.
Many Everton fans have reacted to the performance of Holgate against Fulham, and it is fair to say that they were far from impressed.
The majority tore the defender apart, with one even claiming that he should be sent out on loan to the Championship until his contract expires – maybe too drastic.

Holgate not having the best day, is he? I mean, that can be said of so many, but it feels glaring with him.
And Gomes, obvs.
