Kyle John to be offered a new Everton contract - report
Everton are set to offer academy graduate Kyle John a new contract after training with the first team and being involved in four match-day squads, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The 20-year-old was promoted to the senior side after an injury crisis in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad. The Toffees are currently without 10 senior members, including Fabian Delph, Allan and Yerry Mina.
But now according to the Echo, the right-back will be offered a new contract and then sent out on loan for some first-team experience. He’s yet to make his full Everton debut but has featured for the Under-23s this season.
A class act
John is held in very high regard by everyone associated with the club. Despite not making a competitive debut, he has featured at Goodison Park as a 17-year-old. The youngster came on for the first team in a 4-0 friendly win over Gor Mahia on November 6, 2018.
After the game, Under-23s boss David Unsworth hailed John as one for the future. He said: “He looks a real class act. He is a great boy and if he continues to progress as he has done since he’s been here with us, he’s got a very bright future.”

It’s excellent news to see the club want to confirm his future. We’re very excited to see him progress into the first team, maybe some time playing in the lower leagues will do him good. Ancelotti appears to be impressed by him which is a good sign.
The story comes as a welcome boost, we need all we can take at the moment. It’s been a very disappointing few weeks to say the least. We’ve failed to win in the league for well over a month, and our FA Cup run has come to an end.
Failing to defeat any of Burnley, Crystal Palace and Brighton has all but ended our hopes of Champions League qualification. We’re now seven points off of West Ham in fourth, with a tough run of games coming up.
