Richard Keys: Rafa Benitez pushing hard for Everton job
Richards Keys has shared that Rafa Benitez’ team are pushing hard for him to become the new manager of Everton.
The Spaniard has been linked with the vacant role at Goodison Park and has been mooted as one of the most shockest appointments Merseyside has ever seen.
Keys destroyed the latest update, claiming that it has to be Nuno Espirito Santo, before naming other candidates, bizarrely including Mark Hughes.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Keys shared the major update that the Spaniard was working hard for the Toffees role.
“Rafa’s guys are working overtime on trying to get him the Everton job. I can’t believe Evertonians would stand for it,” he wrote.
“It’s got to be Nuno – or Dyche, Emery, Lampard, Hughes? Don’t miss KeysandGray The Podcast tomorrow. I’ll check with Andy.”
Keys bringing himself into this argument is pointless, when did his opinion become something that anyone is bothered about?
The first part may have been huge news, but then he also links someone such as Hughes with the role – that is embarrassing.
Going from Carlo Ancelotti to Hughes would be unforgivable, and we would much rather have Benitez, no matter his history.
Would this be a shock appointment?
It has been a long time since his tenure at Anfield, and it isn’t as though he was born Red, his experience could be vital.
Getting us into Europe would make everyone forget about that, and it is getting to the point where it looks as though it is between him and Nuno.
