Everton still have numerous issues to resolve with Nuno Espirito Santo before the announcement is made, according to Sky Sports.

It has been suggested that an agreement has been made overnight and that a deal could be confirmed in the coming days.

Now, that appears to have changed though, with many parts of his contract to be ironed out at Goodison Park.

Nuno is reported to want issues such as the length of his contract sorted, meaning that it may only be a loose agreement at this moment in time.

The Portuguese boss also has a huge entourage that he would likely bring to Goodison Park with him, and their wages may be a sticking point.

Nuno was said to be close to joining Crystal Palace last week before talks collapsed and he instantly became the favourite in Merseyside.

Issues?

Given that Nuno saw a potential role at Selhurst Park collapse in the past week, it is hard not to assume the worst here.

This is an appointment that simply has to be made.

Farhad Moshiri is said to be a huge fan of Nuno, so if any issues have appeared, he will likely act quickly to resolve them and announce the deal.

We need someone with huge character to lead us into this next chapter of the new stadium, and bringing European football with that would be perfect.

Carlo Ancelotti left for Real Madrid despite spending big money, and ultimately failing at Goodison Park.

Nuno will be backed, and his knowledge of bringing in young, hungry talents will be critical, with our recent transfer activity less than inspiring.

Get it done, bring it on.
