Kevin Campbell: New Everton manager must get James & Allan on board
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has insisted that Everton can keep hold of Allan and James Rodriguez despite Carlo Ancelotti’s recent departure.
Both were big-name signings last summer, admitting that the Italian was a major part behind the move to Goodison Park.
Campbell admitted that the new manager will have to get them on side, but believes it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “They’re in contract so they are going to be there.
“It’s going to be really interesting to see who the manager is because they came for Ancelotti, he’s gone, so the new manager will need to win them over.
“There’s that lure with the previous manager, so the new one has to get them on side, I think that Everton can keep them for sure.”

Difficult.
If both Allan and Rodriguez are fit for the entire or majority of the Premier League season, there is a major chance of success.
Campbell is confident, despite both of the players loving Ancelotti.
If it is Nuno Espirito Santo who is confirmed, he has the character that is needed to connect to these big players, and he shouldn’t have a problem.
The Toffees need European football, it has been far too long without it in Merseyside, and keeping these two will be key.
If the window and season started with both South Americans leaving, we may as well wave goodbye to those chances.
We air on the side of optimism and follow in the footsteps of Campbell.
