Journo: Everton enter race to sign £17m-rated Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
According to SportItalia journalist Rudy Galetti, Everton have entered the race to sign Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Galetti may not be a household name, but he is a football journalist for Italian channel Sportitalia, and has a YouTube account that includes videos of him appearing as a guest/pundit on various shows.
The Toffees may be looking for a new manager, but signing a winger is also high on the priority list for Marcel Brands.
If the news coming out from Italy is to be believed, a fee in the region of £17 million could be enough to tempt the Russian outfit to part ways with him.
While it was reported by Football FanCast in April that Leeds United director of football Victor Orta was in talks with the agent of the Georgia international, he dreams of playing for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
As quoted by Georgian website Sportall, he said, “At this stage, I can not confirm anything, but negotiations are underway with many teams.
“I think the most interesting thing will be working with Jürgen Klopp. My main goal is to win the Champions League and I will do my best for it.”
Race is heating up
We do not have an abundance of riches in terms of wingers in our side and getting a promising 20-year-old for £17 million is something that we should consider.
This past season, he’s bagged four goals and provided eight assists in 23 games, showcasing his prowess from the left flank.

Thus far, he only operates in a left-wing position, but given his age, getting him to adapt to a new role would not be much of a problem.
Whether or not he walks into our first team solely depends on our new manager.
If Nuno Espirito Santo takes over then he would probably sit out as his space on the field would be occupied by a wing-back and he would be asked to tuck in which is a role that James Rodriguez and Richarlison are more capable at.
However, if it’s going to be someone who prefers a 4-2-3-1, he could slot in on the left flank and have Lucas Digne linking up with him.
Kvaratskhelia, on his day, can terrify the best of defenders, and having a player like that in our team would be beneficial as we’re looking to take the next step.
