Alan Myers: Nuno could still be appointed Everton boss

The Everton manager appears to be taking a new twist every single day at the moment.

Rafa Benitez became the favourite on Wednesday evening, leapfrogging Nuno Espirito Santo, reportedly on the brink of being announced.

That still hasn’t happened, with Gennaro Gattuso even being linked with the vacancy after he spectacularly left Fiorentina after 22 days this morning.

Alan Myers has added yet another twist to the never-ending hunt.

Writing on his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon, he suggested that Nuno could still yet be appointed ahead of the rest.

“I’d say there’s a chance of anything happening,” he wrote.

Who Knows?

Anything could happen in the next week, and we are sure that it wouldn’t actually shock anyone at this stage.

It has been weeks since Carlo Ancelotti, and numerous managers have been mentioned, favourites and even offered the job supposedly.

We do know that Nuno has held talks, whether they were more in-depth than those Benitez has reportedly had, is yet to be known.

Given that Benitez is reported to be on the brink of being appointed, he is clearly ahead of the rest, but should that collapse, Nuno is waiting.

We are surely only a week or less away from knowing who our next manager will be, Nuno is surely still in the running, no matter what position he is in, favourite or not.
