Arsenal keeping tabs on Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Arsenal are keeping tabs on Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and are admirers of the England international, according to The Telegraph.
The Gunners are looking to make major changes to their attack this summer after missing out on European football last season.
Manager Mikel Arteta knows he has to land a quality finisher if Arsenal are to challenge for the top-six next term, and it appears his side will not hesitate to make a move for Calvert-Lewin if they can sell some of their players [The Telegraph].
No chance Arsenal
The North Londoners used to be Premier League heavyweights under iconic French manager Arsene Wenger, but are now a struggling mid-table side.
They finished eighth in the top-flight table last season, two places and two points above us.
Calvert-Lewin bagged 25 goals for Everton and England last season, and it is only normal for him to attract suitors home and abroad.
However, we do not see him getting overly excited by being linked with Arsenal.
While they remain one of the traditional bigwigs, they no longer boast of the attractive power they once held on transfer targets.
We do not have the results to show for it yet, but the Toffees have invested more than them in the transfer market in recent seasons.
Had Everton had an impressive home form last season, we would have finished above Arsenal and strongly pushed for the top-six.
The new manager will be tasked with achieving that and Calvert-Lewin remains crucial to the project of owner Farhad Moshiri.
The club will not be entertaining bids for one of their most players and the England international is not likely to be getting tempted by interests from Arsenal.
In other Everton news, Moshiri must turn to Toffees fan favourite amid reported doubts about Benitez.
