Carlo Ancelotti targets move for Richarlison

Goal are reporting that former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is targeting a move for Brazilian international Richarlison as he looks to improve his Real Madrid squad.

They claim that the Italian has “reached out” to the 24-year-old and has “held conversations” about the Brazilian leaving Merseyside.

However, the talks are in the “early stages” but could develop over the coming weeks and might lead to a bid.

Will Everton tolerate this?

It seems it wasn’t enough for Ancelotti to abandon Everton before the 2021/22 season, and now he wants to take one of the Toffees’ most valuable players.

Richarlison scored 20 goals in 59 appearances under Ancelotti, which is a decent return but is it enough for Real Madrid?

That remains to be seen, but while the two were together, the Italian often praised the former Watford man, so the pair seem to have a good relationship [Liverpool Echo].

The 24-year-old has also been described as a ‘warrior’ in the past by Seamus Coleman, so you can see why Everton would want to keep him and also why Ancelotti wants him at the Bernabeu [Everton official website].

However, after Ancelotti abandoned the Toffees, would they even contemplate selling Richarlison to the Italian?

Everton

In truth, it probably depends on what sort of offer Everton receive for Richarlison should Real’s interest progress to that stage.

Remember in January 2019, Barcelona had a £85m bid rejected for Richarlison, so you could argue that Everton would be looking for similar again [Sky Sports].

So it remains to be seen what happens with this interest, but Evertonians are probably wishing that Ancelotti would leave them alone after walking out last month.
