Kevin Campbell backs Jordan Pickford to kick on after EUROs
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has backed Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to kick on after his sensational EUROs campaign with England.
The Toffees stopper was inspirational in helping the Three Lions to the final on Sunday, but they eventually lost on penalties despite two stops.
Campbell labelled his efforts as “heroic” and believes that there is still more to come from Pickford at Goodison Park.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “He’s been unbelievable.
“There was a lot of fans who were looking at Pope or another goalkeeper, but Pickford has more than enhanced his reputation.
“I thought he was sensational throughout the EUROs, and even in the penalty shoot-out, he was heroic.
“You’d like to think he can really kick on.”
Heroic.
Pickford was out of this world throughout the EUROs.
The viral clip of the keeper telling himself “no problem” before making the biggest save of his career from Jorginho was unreal.
It is now time for him to show it at Goodison Park under Rafa Benitez though, and prove that he has what it takes to be this good consistently in the Premier League.
We already can’t wait for the start of the new season, and the keeper will have a huge role to play in this side.
Pickford has made everyone proud during these EUROs, and we believe he is ready to prove everybody wrong at club level – bring it on.
