Kevin Campbell reacts to contrasting reports on Everton future of James Rodriguez
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has insisted that it would make a “huge difference” if Everton could keep hold of James Rodriguez.
Contrasting reports have surfaced since Rafa Benitez arrived, with the Colombian promoting a pre-season tour for the Toffees.
Campbell believes that Rodriguez is packed with quality, and that is never something that should be turned away at Goodison Park.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “It’s a good thing.
“We know what a quality player he is, Rafa Benitez has probably spoken to him, had a good chat with him, and he is willing to tow the line.
“That quality of player still there could make a huge difference, we saw those pockets of quality last season.”

Head scratcher.
When it was looking as though Rodriguez is in the thick of our pre-season plans, another exit claim was dropped.
The Telegraph reported today that six senior players could be sold at Goodison Park this summer.
Rodriguez is said to be one of those, and it looks as though it will go to the very last day of the window in Merseyside.
Everyone will want the South American to stay, but he has to find consistency.
There were too many injuries last season, and it disrupted his consistency, but having said that, there were plenty of quality moments too.
Time will tell, but whatever happens, it could be a positive.
