Kevin Campbell shares verdict on Beni Baningime-Everton exit

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell has insisted that Everton made the right decision to let go of Beni Baningime this summer.

The Toffees sold the 22-year-old to Hearts in July, and he delivered a masterclass against Celtic last weekend.

Campbell believes that it is “fantastic” to see him shining, but claimed there will still be zero regrets at Goodison Park.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “No.

“No mistake at all, he’s a young man, capable and a decent player. He has played first-team football at Everton before.

“Just now, it is time for him to shine with his experience and fair enough, you don’t cut it at Everton, but he can do it in Scotland – fantastic.”

Time to go.

Rafa Benitez will have looked at his squad after arriving and making decisions on their futures, and this was deemed the right decision.

Baningime had chances to make it at Goodison Park before Benitez even arrived, and he failed to take any of them.

We can’t regret every single sale just because that player may put in a good performance every so often, as is the case here.

John Collins even claimed that there won’t be a better signing in Scotland this summer than Baningime going to Hearts.

We have our eyes set on bigger fish, and hopefully, some big names can arrive between now and the end of August.
