Everton have an agreement in principle for Joaquin Correa

Everton have an "agreement in principle" for the signing of Joaquin Correa from Lazio, according to a report from Alfredo Pedulla.

He claims that the Toffees and the Europa League side had an agreement in place for the signing of the 27-year-old attacking midfielder; however, that deal will go no further unless Inter Milan pull out.

This is because the Argentine "only wants" a move to the San Siro, and Everton would only be "back in contention" if the two Serie A giants can't reach an agreement for Correa.

Inter to beat the Toffees to another signing?

Everton were heavily linked with a move for Denzel Dumfries, but he moved to Inter Milan in the end.

Now, the Toffees have also been heavily linked with a move for Correa, but he seems set on a move to Inter.

So the 2020/21 Serie A champions could be about to beat Everton to another signing, which would be a blow for Rafael Benitez's side.

Correa scored eight goals last season in the league as Lazio secured a Europa League place, and he could have been an ideal signing for the Toffees.

It is even worse than the clubs have agreed a fee in principle, but Correa has his heart set on a move to Inter, and we would be surprised if that didn't happen before the end of the transfer window.
