Salomon Rondon ‘likely’ to join Everton with talks open – Sky Sports

Everton are “likely” to finalise the signing of Salomon Rondon in the next 48 hours, according to Sky Sports.

The Toffees have entered talks with the Dalian forward this week as he looks to seal yet another reunion with Rafa Benitez.

Rondon has made it no secret that he would like a move to Goodison Park, and talks are ongoing between the two parties.

Writing on their live transfer blog on Sunday evening, Sky Sports suggested a reunion was getting closer.

“Everton are in talks to bring Salomon Rondon back to the Premier League,” they wrote.

“The former West Brom and Newcastle striker moved to St. James’ Park when Rafa Benitez was at the helm and looks likely to link up with his old manager again.

“Everton are yet to complete a deal, but talks are ongoing.”

Not wanted.

Dalian have made their stance quite clear on the South American, loaning him out to CSKA Moscow this season.

It should be easy to get a deal done for the Venezuelan, but it is well known that wages in China are skyrocketed, so they may need to be lowered.

Benitez will know what he is getting with Rondon, and that is another battering ram who can change a game in the blink of an eye.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has started the season with an injury, but with no real rotation option behind him, he has played through the pain barrier.

It would be smart business to get this one done on the cheap, and expect it to happen in the next 48 hours.
