Colombia’s manager discusses James Rodriguez’s situation at Everton
Colombia manager Reinaldo Rueda has revealed that he wants to see Everton man James Rodriguez back playing and in the national team.
After the 30-year-old’s proposed move to Turkey collapsed in his latest press conference, Rueda revealed that he just wants to see Rodriguez happy and playing football [AS].
The Colombian has not played for his country since last year, and it is pretty clear that Rueda wants to see him back in the national team.

Rodriguez misses his chance.
The Colombian had the chance to leave Goodison Park and move on loan to Istanbul Basaksehir.
Here he would have played regularly and perhaps forced his way into Rueda’s plans.
It is pretty clear from the manager’s comments that he wants to see the attacking midfielder playing regularly so that he can bring him back into the national team.
However, Rodriguez decided that he didn’t fancy the move, and he could now be forced to sit in the reserves and wait for a move in January [Antena 2].
Certainly, it appears as if the Colombian had a chance of regular football that could have got him back in the national team, but he turned it down, which is odd.

We don’t really know why the Colombian decided to stay on Merseyside, but the Toffees are desperate to get him off the wage bill, and a move to Turkey would have seen Basaksehir take on some of his wages [Pipe Sierra].
Now, we must wait until January before Rodriguez can look to leave the club again, which means his exile from the national team is likely to continue.
In other Everton news, one journalist claims the club have been left in a “messy situation” following player update.
