Gary Lineker impressed by Demarai Gray in Everton win over Burnley

Everton came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Burnley at Goodison Park on Monday night and Demarai Gray impressed Gary Lineker.

The English attacker, 25, bagged his third Premier League goal for the Toffees to help seal victory for the hosts, continuing his dream start to new life on Merseyside.

BBC Match of the Day presenter Lineker loved the performance of Gray, taking to his personal Twitter account to react.

The former Everton striker said: “Really pleased for Demarai Gray.

“Always had bags of potential and if he carries on like this he may well be the bargain buy of the season.”

Bargain of the summer?

With three goals in just four Premier League games to his name, it is hard to argue that Gray is not the bargain of the summer transfer window.

The attacker cost the Toffees just £1.7million when he was signed from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, and considering that he scored just 10 goals in 133 top-flight games for Leicester City, his impact so far has been mind-blowing.

Nobody has ever doubted his potential, but Everton fans were not too excited about his arrival.

He did not do enough with the Foxes and Leverkusen, and not many saw him hitting the ground running as he has done.

Gray is finally proving himself and true quality under Rafa Benitez, and if he continues developing at this rate, Leicester could rue their decision to let him leave last January.

It is too early to draw any conclusions, but Everton would count themselves lucky for getting a quality player for such a ridiculous fee.
