Rafa Benitez has confirmed that Jordan Pickford and Lucas Digne are in Everton training ahead of the Norwich clash on Saturday.

Digne was an injury scare for this one after being subbed off against QPR on Tuesday evening in the Carabao Cup defeat.

Pickford's also missed the last two games with Asmir Begovic deputising, but he could be in line for a return to the starting eleven.

Speaking to the press ahead of the game, Benitez said, via The Liverpool Echo, "Pickford and Digne have been training" while also stating that the others were getting better but are not in contention to start.

Relief

With no recognised left-back other than Digne, Toffees could have been in a spot of a bother had he not been declared fit.

Someone like Ben Godfrey would have to be deployed there or Benitez would have to change his system to play wing-backs and possibly try Anthony Gordon on the left side.

However, he will not have to worry about that anymore, and Digne seems likely to start this one.

In goal, it may get a little tricky as we're uncertain as to whether or not Pickford has recovered a hundred percent, but we think Benitez will draft him straight into the side.

He's a much more composed figure on the ball and is a superb organiser of the defence.

Hopefully, his return is coupled with a clean sheet as the team have been shipping in goals for fun during his absence.
