Everton man Nathan Broadhead impresses for Sunderland

On-loan Everton youngster Nathan Broadhead is playing well for Sunderland, and Lee Johnson praised him after Tuesday night’s game.

The Black Cats won 5-0 at home, and Broadhead was one of the standout players before he was withdrawn with an injury.

However, while he was on the pitch, he was very impressive, and after the match, Johnson lauded the 23-year-old [Evening Chronicle].

He said: “I thought he was fantastic, and as an ex-midfielder myself, you just love playing in a team with that kind of movement ahead of you.

“Not only that, he never loses heart when he doesn’t get the ball.

“He’s not one of those strikers who makes ten runs and then stops because the ball isn’t coming.

“He keeps on presenting himself, either to be put in behind or with the ball to feet.”

Broadhead is playing well for Sunderland.

In six appearances for the Black Cats, the on-loan Everton man has scored one goal and registered no assists.

Now, these don’t seem to be impressive numbers, but he is clearly doing something right because the fans love him.

Despite being in League One, the Black Cats are a huge club and to have that character to play at the Stadium of Light and deliver is an impressive thing.

This should stand him in good stead for the future when he returns to Goodison Park, and it is brilliant to see that he is making a huge impact on Wearside.

However, the severity of his injury is not yet known, so we just have to hope that everything is fine and he can be back in action soon.

Johnson is clearly a big fan of Broadhead, and this appears to be the ideal loan move for the player before he returns to Goodison.
