Michael Owen stunned by Tom Davies decision v Manchester United
Michael Owen believes that Tom Davies could have won the game for Everton against Manchester United on Saturday.
In the dying stages of the game, the Toffees midfielder found himself in point-blank range of the Man United goal.
However, instead of pulling the trigger, he ended up squaring the ball to Yerry Mina who ended up being in an offside position.
In Premier League Productions’ post-match show, Owen said, “I was surprised. I thought he [Davies] should have struck it. You can see how close it (offside call) was. That could have won the game.”
Bad decision
The 23-year-old found himself with the rare chance to seal three points at Old Trafford and he ended up making the wrong call.

Had there been no VAR, the goal would have stood, but due to it being rechecked, Mina was rightly judged to be in an offside position.
Players are often criticised for being too selfish, but this was an occasion where being selfish would’ve possibly got him a goal and his side the win.
That said, it’s still a fantastic result for the Toffees and picking up even a point from their visit to Old Trafford must be considered as a big deal.
Currently, this has put the team in third place and now the onus is on Rafa Benitez to keep them there.
Hopefully, the good times continue and the Spaniard can help this side finish in the top six this season.
