Kevin Campbell fears Real Madrid may move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin if Luka Jovic leaves the Spanish giants in January.

Defensa Central reported earlier this week [29/10/21] that Everton, led by director of football Marcel Brands, are plotting mid-season loan approaches for Serbia centre-forward Jovic and Spanish playmaker Isco, both of whom are on the books of Real.

Ex-Blues hero Campbell has sent a warning over the club potentially signing the duo.

“I think they’ve got to be very careful here with the `attraction of players that haven’t played a lot,” Campbell told Goodison News.

“Because if you’re going to bring people in who are going to make a real difference to the team – one, they’ve got to be fit, two, they’ve got to be ready, and three, which is most important, they’ve got to be ready for the winter.

“To be able to make a difference in England you’ve got to play through the though times, you’ve got to play the winter. I’m not saying that they can’t do it, but I’m not too sure.”

Campell also expressed fears over Blues star striker Calvert-Lewin, who scored 16 Premier League goals under current Real boss Carlo Ancelotti last season.

“I don’t want to get anybody upset but if Jovic is going to move then Real Madrid are maybe going to want to look at Calvert-Lewin, because Jovic is a key part of their squad at the moment,” Campbell said.
