Everton Fan Mailbag: Who should the club sign in January?
Every week we’ll be asking Everton fans on our Twitter account for questions that will be answered by Goodison News correspondent Jack Cunningham. You can join in by following the Goodison News Twitter account and watching out for weekly mailbag posts.
Everton had a pretty strong transfer window, despite spending very little money on four first-team players.
They managed to add a striker, two wingers and a backup goalkeeper; however, they were close to adding Donny van de Beek at the end of the summer [talkSPORT 03/09/2021].
Now, he is a player who arrived at Manchester United with a big reputation but has been given very limited chances to impress at Old Trafford.

He is a player who would make a huge difference for the Toffees and would be a fantastic signing.
Well, we asked for your burning questions about the Blues this week for Goodison News correspondent Jack Cunningham to answer, and one fan wanted to know who we think their club should buy in January?

This is a fantastic question from Stephen, and it has a very simple answer.
The man that the Toffees should look to sign in January is Van De Beek.
The 24-year-old has 19 caps for his country, and while he was at Ajax, he scored 41 goals in 175 appearances.
The big thing, though, is that Marcel Brands admitted in a recent interview that the Toffees are still interested in the Dutchman, which I believe is crucial [NOS via Daily Mail].
He could have just brushed it under the carpet, but he has kept that public pressure on and I believe that it will make a difference.
Adding a player like the Dutchman could have a transformative impact on a team like Everton and could be the player they need to secure a top-six finish.
The key difference between him and someone like James Rodriguez is that Van De Beek is hungry and determined to prove he can play in the Premier League.
Therefore, I believe this would be a fantastic move for the Toffees.
In other Everton news, the club have made a major off-the-field decision.
