Everton increasingly likely to sign Aaron Ramsey in January

Everton are “increasingly likely” to seal the January signing of Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who have now reported that the Welsh international is certain to leave the club.

Currently in the top-five earners of the Old Lady, the Italian side need to recoup some funds to make moves of their own over the winter window.

Ramsey was said to reject many moves away over the summer, with no agreement said to be enticing enough.

Looking for regular football now, the experienced playmaker looks to have changed his mind after limited chances this season.

That has dramatically changed, with Ramsey himself now pushing to be sold, likely to the Premier League.

Newcastle and West Ham have also been strongly linked, but neither are mentioned in this latest update.

Get it done?

Benitez will be strongly considering this deal, with Marcel Brands likely waiting for the green light to get it done over the next couple of months.

It may sound as though Ramsey won’t fit into this system, but with the Toffees playing two up top, the Welshman has proved he can play at centre-forward during this international break.

The former Arsenal man played alongside Keiffer Moore and Dan James against the Czech Republic, waiting for loose balls and it saw him score the first goal of the night in sensational fashion in the 2-2 draw.

With the wages of James Rodriguez and Moise Kean off the bill at the club, we could see a big-money name arrive in January or the summer.

The more time that passes, the more it looks like that could be Ramsey.
